1934 MG PA-0531 UK plate BME-384 . The green
UK log book comes with the package!.
The car was imported into Canada from the
UK in 1974 and completely restored in 1975 with all new wood, body metal and
new cycle fenders. Photographs and notes from this restoration are
available and the vehicle has done very few miles since.
Car has been in posession of current
owner for the past four years. The following work/service was performed
this past winter.
- new gas tank
- rebuilt the gearbox with new bearings and repaired the shift
lever
- rebuilt the differential with new bearings, gears were in very
good condition
- installed new sealed for life rear wheel bearings
- checked and straightened the rear axle banjo tube
- checked and straightened the front axle beam
- installed new tapered roller bearings in the front hubs
- hard chromed the kingpins to size and reamed bushings to
suit
- installed all new wiring harness and modern voltage
regulator
- installed new correct battery
- installed new SU fuel pump
- brakes shoes and 12" drums were checked and found as new
- installed one new brake cable, remainder were fine
- correctly mounted front cycle wings and re-painted to match
body colour
- replaced tachometer internals
- installed a modern voltage regulator to control the generator
output
- replaced all four sliding trunnion bearings on the rear ends of
the leaf springs
- repaired the central lubrication system by re-routing some of
the piping.
- rebuilt waterpump comes with the car but this has not been
installed

- The engine, rebuilt just before
current owner aquired the car, has 80 psi oil pressure hot when running and 35
to 40 psi when hot idling.
- The car is very steady on the highway
at 60 MPH.
- It starts easily, is great fun to
drive, corners well, stops quickly.
Current owner just has too many MG
cars and not enough garage space. |
